Students Update from Pastor Jake
As the fall approaches with many changes to what schools are doing in light of the COVID-19 situation. I wanted to let you know of a few changes that are going to be made to Sunday nights here at Crossroads both because of COVID-19 and also we believe these changes are best for the students and your family. Here is a list of things to expect this fall:
1. Sunday nights will begin at 7pm. Our hope is that this would allow your family to have time to have dinner together and give students time to complete homework as needed. Doors will open at 6:30pm and we will actually begin at 7pm then end at 8:30pm.
2. We will be splitting middle school and high school students. This does two things for us, it allows us to keep the gathered number closer to that 10-15 range, rather than the entire group of 20-30 and it also allows us to have specific age appropriate teaching for those age groups. Everyone will show up at the same time on Sunday nights but during the programming middle school and high school students will be separated.
3. We are going to ask students to bring a face mask. For the time being when we gather as a large group we are going to ask students and adult leaders to wear face masks.
4. We will offer an online/virtual/digital way for students to join in on the lesson and small group time. In the event that one of the students or students family members is diagnosed with COVID and needs to quarantine or if students or you as parents are uncomfortable with your student coming in person, we still want them to be apart of the lesson and small group times. This will be provided on request so if this is the case for your family please let me know and we will work something out.
I am excited for this school year! We are facing a lot of changes that have never been made before, these changes also provide opportunities for good conversations to happen. Please know that I am praying for your students, you as parents and your families in general. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me. I’m thankful for each of you and look forward to see how God will move in your students life, and your life!
